**Please note that the deadline for the submission of applications for S-STEP Graduate Student Travel Grants 2020 has been brought forward to January 31, 2020**
The membership of the S-STEP SIG is committed to helping support graduate students presenting as part of our program. Amounts vary depending on the number of applicants and available funds but $200-$300 is not uncommon. Applicants must be current S-STEP SIG members and enrolled in a graduate program (full- or part-time) to apply.
Please encourage graduate students to apply to Deborah Tidwell at deborah.tidwell@uni.edu by January 31, 2020.
To apply, the graduate student should submit an application that includes the following three items:
1. A letter with the following information:
● Name, title, and institutional affiliation.
● Contact information, including mailing address, phone number and email address.
● Title of your paper presentation and a short abstract of your paper.
● A brief description of your need for travel assistance.
2. Copy of AERA Self-Study of Teacher Education Practices acceptance.
3.An abbreviated CV.
Selected applicants will be expected to attend the S-STEP SIG Business Meeting at AERA 2020. Awardees will also be expected to provide a brief contribution to an upcoming S-STEP SIG newsletter (e.g., write about experiences of presenting at AERA as an S-STEP SIG member or provide a review of a specific S-STEP SIG session).
*The grant will be disbursed in the form of a check after the 2020 AERA Annual Meeting.
